Try to Turn Around is an intimate, tragicomic father-son drama about regret, pride, and the inevitable march of time.
The film tells the story of Koen (86), who – now approaching his own end – travels across the Netherlands on a mobility scooter to visit the son he disowned 38 years ago. A short, honest journey in which it slowly becomes clear that it is never too late to turn back.
The film is a project by third-year Film and Audiovisual Media students from the Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, with a professional approach and ambition.

Description
We are looking for an actor (male, playing age ±58 / casting range 45–60) for the role of Marco.
Marco is the estranged son of protagonist Koen. He appears in only one scene, but he's the film's emotional highlight. Marco owns a successful restaurant and has transformed his past pain and anger into discipline, hard work, and control. Outwardly tough and untouchable, inside he's filled with guilt, anger, and a deep longing to finally be heard.
The role has no dialogue. The acting revolves entirely around nonverbal expression, suppressed emotion, and physical tension. We're looking for an actor who can create maximum emotional impact with minimal resources. The scene is raw and vulnerable, yet always understated and honest.
