Actor and actress wanted (18–25) for short film Groningen

(auto-translated from Dutch)

Praise Joe (2026) is a short fiction film about Okki, a young director and film student who is confronted with the death of her lead actress during the shoot of her graduation film. She tries to come to grips with the half-finished project, while wrestling with guilt and the question of how to finish something when the person you made it for is no longer there.

What do we offer?
- A local project with plenty of room for play and collaboration
- Travel expenses (negotiable)
- Food and drinks on shooting days
- Professional footage for your showreel
- A mention on IMDb, Letterboxd and in the credits (of course)
- A film that will (possibly) be submitted to (student) film festivals

I've previously written and directed several short films in Groningen, which have been screened and won several awards. The horror film "Mangat," which I directed, won the main prize for "Best Film" at the Cine Challenge in 2024.

Description
For this short film we are looking for:

- 1 actress (18–25 years old) for the role of Okki: a young director, creative, sensitive and critical of herself.
- 1 actor (18–25 years old) for the role of Dolf: her boyfriend and cameraman, calm, warm, observant, with a subtle but essential presence.

We're looking for players from (the Groningen area) who can keep the weekends free during that period. Experience is helpful, but not required. What's more important is that you feel inspired and are driven to make a creative contribution.

The film features a romantic relationship between the characters. This means there's some light physical intimacy. Everything will be done consensually.

For the role of Dolf, it is very useful if you have a driver's license!
