Tungsten Studio Academy organizes workshops for students together with film and art academies. 2026 = the 25th edition.

During the film workshop for the audiovisual department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy 2026 (1-14 March), we offer graduating (art academy) students the opportunity to realise their film plan with a professional crew, in a professional studio, on location or in an outdoor setting with professional equipment.

We work with the following brands:
RED digital camera, Blackmagic, Arri, Aputure, Nanlux, Nanlite, Kupo, Avenger.

Available further:
Studios (including green screen), a (props) workshop and a production and technical team for support.
This is an educational project, resulting from a teaching position at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy.

The location is Tungsten Studio, Broek in Waterland (just above Amsterdam).

What do we offer?
We offer:

- (young / starting or experienced) film professionals an opportunity to gain additional film (set) experience for an expense allowance, in a free assignment atmosphere - in a so-called audiovisual playground.

You will work in a professional environment in a small team with high-end equipment, motivated colleagues and film students.
This is an educational project with a minimal budget, so we can only guarantee reimbursement for expenses (such as travel).

We understand that, because the compensation is minimal, paid work sometimes has to take priority, even last-minute situations. We ask for commitment, but we will always work with you to find a replacement.

Description
We're looking for (young) professionals in the camera, sound, and lighting department who are enthusiastic about thinking outside the box with students, aren't afraid of a challenge, and are willing to use their camera, sound, lighting, or acting skills in unconventional ways. This is for the greater good. You approach projects seriously and don't have a 9-to-5 mentality. Your approach during this shoot is to be able to use your own expertise in a playful and creative way, but you're also willing to accept a "boring" day.

Job requirements / profile
We expect you to have experience in your department and be willing and able to work independently as well as within a team. Your duties will include reading scripts, listening and contributing technical input to the direction and art team, and finally, operating the camera, lighting, and/or sound equipment on set.
Shooting days are from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, but times may vary. Location: Broek in Waterland (Amsterdam North).
