"Can't Get a Grip" is a short film about Ethan, a young drummer working towards a gig with his band. During the preparations, he meets a girl with whom he has a special connection. The film explores music, uncertainty, friendship, and growth.

This project is being commissioned by the Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, where I'm currently studying. It's being professionally filmed with a small crew. Music plays a significant role in this story, so musical actors are a huge asset.

For the short film "Can't Get a Grip" I'm looking for 3 actors:

Guitarist / Bandleader (male)
– Can play electric guitar (basic to advanced)
– Can lead the band convincingly
– Short pieces of dialogue in rehearsals and performances
-Confident attitude on stage

Drummer – Main Role: Ethan (male)
– Must be able to play drums (solo during performance)
– Visible passion, drive and emotion (acting is important)
– Comfortable in scenes with musical play and subtle romance
– Lots of presence in film, carries the story

Bassist (male)
– Must be a bassist or have experience with bass guitar
– Plays in rehearsals and the performance
– No text required, but appearance and sense of rhythm are important
