Monsters is a raw, visually rich short film by director Mees van Oosten and screenwriter Donny Singh (the Tattas). The film is produced by Bubu Films and shot with a professional crew who have previously worked on various commercial feature films.

Logline: A grieving father takes the law into his own hands after his daughter is murdered, but in his quest for revenge, he slowly loses his humanity.

Description
Ruben (male, 35–45 years old): Ruben is an emotionally intelligent man. He doesn't try hard to convince Dad. He doesn't raise his voice. He just tells the truth. He knows his own innocence. Sympathetic, wise, kind, and warm.

Scene Summary – Ruben (MONSTERS)

In an abandoned greenhouse, Ruben stands tied to a pole. The sun filters through the dirty glass; it's silent—except for his breathing. Across from him: Dad, axe in hand.

Ruben tries to stay calm. He explains what happened—one mistake, one impulsive conversation with a girl he immediately blocked. He regrets it, but believes he's not a bad person. As he speaks, we see a man trying to salvage his own humanity.

Papa listens, remains silent, and lifts the axe. The tension boils over. Ruben's words hang in the air, the final proof of a man condemned not only by his actions, but by the image others have of him.
