We at Fast Clouds Productions are currently in preproduction for Cabinet, a festival-aiming short film acting as proof-of-concept for our next feature. The film blends psychological horror, surreal mystery, and character-driven drama in the tradition of Control, Channel Zero, and David Lynch.

The story centers on The Huntswoman, a woman caught between grief and duty, whose work for a mysterious agency blurs the lines between memory, trauma, and the supernatural. The film is dialogue-driven, with strong visual symbolism and carefully designed spaces that bring its uncanny atmosphere to life.

We are looking for someone in the Art Department / Set Dressing to help us shape this world. Your role will involve:

Dressing and preparing interiors (office, hospital room, abandoned spaces) to achieve a controlled, eerie visual style.

Collaborating closely with the director and DoP on color, texture, and prop placement to reinforce narrative themes.

Assisting in sourcing or creating props (folders, old CRT TV, VHS tapes, cabinets, medical equipment).

Helping during the shoot to ensure continuity and maintaining the visual integrity of each set.

This is a no-budget short film made with passion, but we will cover all expenses (travel, food, materials). It’s a great opportunity to contribute to a film going on a big festival run, expand your portfolio, and work with a dedicated, very experienced, and awesome team that values creativity and collaboration.

Dates: Filming will take place in October 2025, in The Hague and surroundings.

We are especially interested in people who enjoy creative problem-solving and have an eye for detail in building atmosphere.

We’re looking for a creative and reliable Art Department / Set Dresser who can help us shape the visual world of Cabinet. Someone with an eye for atmosphere, detail, and storytelling through space and objects. Experience in set dressing or production design is a plus, but enthusiasm and a problem-solving mindset are just as important.

You’ll work closely with the director and DoP to source, prepare, and dress locations (office, hospital room, abandoned spaces) in and around The Hague. We especially value people who are resourceful, hands-on, and enjoy making small details count. A taste for Lynchian, uncanny, and surreal atmospheres is very welcome, since the film leans heavily on creating that unsettling mood through set and props.

Job requirements / profile
Interest or experience in art department, set dressing, or production design (student or emerging filmmakers welcome)

A good eye for detail and atmosphere, with a taste for Lynchian, uncanny, and surreal aesthetics

Excited by the challenge of turning ordinary locations (an office, a hospital room, an abandoned space) into unsettling, dreamlike environments that carry the story’s mood

Ability to be hands-on and resourceful with props and set dressing on a no-budget production

Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team where creativity and flexibility are key

Available for the relevant shoot days (October–November 2025, The Hague area)

Reliability, enthusiasm, and imagination are more important than extensive professional experience

Language requirements
English required, Dutch a bonus
