Eye Film Museum
Eye is the only film museum in the Netherlands and a treasurer, pioneer and guide in the world of film and the art of the moving image. The museum manages an international collection of more than 62,000 films, programs in five cinemas and creates leading exhibitions on film and visual arts. Eye shows film in all its diversity and promotes Dutch film in collaboration with the film world at home and abroad. With educational programs and streaming platform Eye Film Player, Eye stimulates the understanding of and love for film, in collaboration with education and the film industry.

What do we offer?
A challenging internship in an inspiring work environment in a great location in Amsterdam, with fun, enthusiastic colleagues. This is an internship of 28.8 hours per week for 5 months from September 1, 2025 to February 1, 2026. The internship allowance is € 550 gross based on 36 hours per week, including travel expenses. You will work in an informal atmosphere with room for your own initiative, in addition to individual guidance. Interns receive an employee pass with which you can visit films and the exhibition for free.

About the department
The teaching team consists of five enthusiastic employees who work daily to introduce as many students as possible to film. This happens in the museum, at schools and online.

About the internship position
As an education intern, you will fully immerse yourself in the world of museum and film education! You will become an important part of the education team and will work both on the work floor and in the office. There is plenty of room for your own ideas and creative projects and the opportunity to gain inspiration during meetings and festivals. This internship offers you a unique and versatile experience, in which you will work independently and in a team with the education team. You will have the opportunity to get to know the organization from the inside and to contribute to innovative projects.

Job requirements / profile
Tasks and responsibilities
• providing educational programs for children and young people of different ages and educational levels
• (co-)developing inspiring teaching materials and creative film programs
• help make exhibitions accessible and relevant for a young target group
• searching for and selecting the most beautiful, captivating films that perfectly match the target groups
• supporting production tasks and helping to ensure that everything runs smoothly.



Your profile
• Enrolled at an educational institution for, for example, Communication, Media and Culture, Art History, Film, Museology, and/or Education (preferably third- or fourth-year students);
• affinity and interest in standing in front of groups;
• affinity with film and lesson development;
• good command of the Dutch and English language;
• Some experience with LessonUp and Adobe CC, such as Adobe Premiere, is a plus.

Eye is an open, informal and collaborative organisation in dynamic Amsterdam-Noord, located in two locations: the iconic museum building on the IJ with a busy restaurant, and the Collection Centre where visitors can consult Eye's collection.
