synopsis:
Thomas, David and his friends stand in the forest with shocked faces and blood on their hands. In front of them lies the dead body of one of their friends. A few hours earlier, David and his group want to perform an ancient ritual. This ritual is like a worship of the god Dionysus where by using wine (because Dionysus is the god of wine) you end up in a trance-like state for total freedom. But to perform this ritual they need a forbidden book that is hidden in a locked room of the university that only Thomas has access to because he works for the student council. During Thomas's self-study in the library, he is approached by David about this ritual. Thomas is hesitant at first, but through the manipulation of David and the peer pressure of the rest of the group, he agrees to help. Later that evening, Thomas, David and the rest of the group gather in the forest. They are deeply in the trance of the ritual. What starts as a pleasant evening full of laughter and wine turns into complete chaos. the boundaries between fun and chaos blur, reality and madness merge. Due to the so-called “Dionysus madness” one of the friends has died. The trance is broken, the boys stand around the body unaware of what has just happened. Was it an accident or was it a deliberate murder? The memories remain vague. Thomas panics but David forces him to help hide the body. The next day David pretends that nothing is wrong while on the side the feeling of guilt eats away at Thomas. He is afraid that they will discover what happened but David convinces him that no one can know because they have washed away the evidence but the feeling remains with Thomas. . In the end Thomas is still on his own and he sits alone in the library with a feeling of guilt while David and his friends ignore him as if he does not exist.
