Estranged follows 23-year-old Josephine; aka Jo, an antique shop clerk still searching for her place in life. She receives a message from her long-distance friend, Richelle; aka Rikki, to organize a dinner with her group of high school friends. But things take a dark turn when Jo discovers that an old bad friend, Maia, is also coming over.

Rikki wants the evening to be perfect, but inside she's worried about Maia being there, while Maia doesn't see that she was a bad friend. Michael and Amira relive the relationship they had, while Jo tries to extra out why everyone is so 'okay' with Maia being there.

Ultimately, over dinner, Rikki's perfect evening is ruined as Maia's true nature comes out again, and Michael and Amira realize that they are completely different people to each other. But Jo feels freer than ever. With horror elements, we portray the fears that Jo experiences when Maia is present.

I am looking for six driven and enthusiastic actors who would like to put their creativity into a student project and who would like to fulfill the following roles;

PROTAGONIST:
- Josephine 'Jo' (23)
Central African, Dark skin, Female, 18-30. She is friendly and helpful, but finds it very difficult to open up to others and tries to avoid her problems.

SUPPORTING ROLES:
- Richelle 'Rikki' (24)
(South)East Asian, Female, between 18-30. She is helpful, friendly, loyal, perfectionist and feels pity quickly. She is an only child of divorced parents. Her parents often fought and Rikki suffered a lot from that. Because of that experience, she makes sure that everyone around her is doing well.

- Michael (24)
Surinamese, Dark skin, Male, between 18-30. He is calm and cares about others. Michael does not strive for a specific goal in his life and lets fate determine what happens to him. His calmness is also very audible in his voice.

- Amira (23)
South Asian, Female, between 18-30. She is very sweet and cares a lot about others. Most people around her always become happy when they see her. Amira often lives in her own world, in this way she also radiates her creativity.

ANTAGONIST:
- Maia (24)
Female, between 18-30. She is selfish and cares little for others. She is very bossy and never knows when to stop. She does not take responsibility. Maia comes across as caring, but she is not.

A SMALL MEMORABLE SUPPORTING ROLE:
- Ashlynn 'Ash' (24)
Female, between 18-30, can speak English. She is sweet and gets worried easily. She is Rikki's international roommate.

Diversity and inclusion plays a big part in my film, but feel free to apply for roles that interest you. I, as a screenwriter, am open to rewriting the ethnicity of the characters.
