We are currently in pre-production for a short film that we will be filming this summer. The film is inspired by films such as “Call me by your name” and “Waves”. For the film we are still looking for a cast who want to be the stars of our film. We are looking for a group of young people who want to play the best friends of our main character Luca. Below is the synopsis of the film.

Synopsis:
Luca and Noah have been inseparable for years and share endless adventures every summer. Their friendship is platonic and deeply rooted in mutual understanding. A constant in their lives is their 'spot', a secluded beach by the water, where they always come together to escape from the world.
But this summer feels different. While Noah enthusiastically talks about his acceptance to a study and his new driver's license, Luca is left with a growing sense of uncertainty. He doesn't know what he wants and fears that he will lose his best friend to the future.
Their friendship reaches a breaking point at a party. Luca feels left out and gets sucked into a spiral of jealousy and insecurity. An argument escalates, and Luca ends up humiliated in the swimming pool. Deeply hurt and ashamed, he withdraws, until a lonely night with his guitar forces him to face his feelings.
After a period of self-reflection, Luca and Noah meet again in the morning at their 'spot' to talk it out. For the last time, they sit together by the water, and in a candid conversation, they let go of their facades. They cry together and acknowledge that nothing will stay the same, but that their friendship will always be a part of them. Their bond may be changing, but their memories and deep connection will remain.
The summer ends as it began: on the bike. But this time Luca consciously chooses a different path, ready to face his own future.

What do we offer?
Because we are an independent film we cannot give money for the labor, but we will make sure you have a full stomach and a good atmosphere on set. We will film at a beach in the sun, so you can see this film as a small vacation with very nice people. In addition, this is also a good place to network with future HKU students who are driven and passionate about the film profession. In addition, we are planning to submit this film to as many film festivals as possible, so there is also a possibility to network with actors and filmmakers there.

We are looking for 5 young people who want to play Luca's best friends. Below is a short description per character:

Daan (18 years old):
Daan is a broad, athletic and energetic boy. He is social, exuberant and easy to get along with. He likes parties, conviviality and has a loose, relaxed attitude towards life. Daan does not really worry about other people and is mainly concerned with his own life. Daan can handle conflicts well, but does draw clear boundaries when he notices that others (like Luca) are crossing boundaries. He is the friend who always makes sure there is laughter, but also knows when it is enough.

Stef (17 years old):
Stef is a sporty boy who excels in everything that has to do with sports. He is competitive, playful and loves a challenge. At the same time, Stef has an unhealthy lifestyle: he smokes, drinks a lot and lives uncontrolled, which casts a shadow over his great sporting talent. Despite his potential, he does not seem to fully understand how his choices can influence his future.

Stijn (21 years old):
Stijn is a relaxed, open and hospitable guy. He is older than the others and has been at the university for a while. He met Daan at an open day when he gave him a tour of the campus, and has remained friends since then, which shows that he easily lets new people in. During his party he tries to please everyone, even when it is busy. He seems practical and makes people feel welcome.

Emma (18 years old):
Emma is a calm and friendly friend within the group. She is not super emphatically present, but always seems to be part of the atmosphere. She is friendly, social and often stands together with Julia and Celeste. Emma radiates a kind of natural relaxation and feels comfortable within the group of friends.

Julia (17):
Julia is a pretty girl who is very busy with her social media accounts. She films everything around her with her phone and posts multiple stories every day. She would have preferred to become an influencer after school, but she enrolled in psychology instead.
