"When their parents leave the house arguing for the umpteenth time, Tim and his sister Boukje look for a way to deal with the tensions in the house. Tim looks for distraction on his phone, until an out-of-control fantasy world of his Boukje forces him to really be present."

Our film is about a brother and sister who have trouble processing their pain, each processing it in their own way. We show that children can best process their feelings through fantasy, and that older children allow fantasy less and less. They hide and lock themselves behind their phone more and more often, where they keep scrolling endlessly.

What do we offer?
Because this is a student production, there is unfortunately no budget, but travel expenses are reimbursed if applicable in our collaboration! You will find yourself in a pleasant atmosphere with enthusiastic makers. Gain experience in a semi-professional HKU production, and hope to distribute the film outside of the HKU. The film can of course also be used in your portfolio!

For our film we are looking for a sound designer who can join our team of our HKU short fiction film “De Ark van Boukje”.

Job requirements / profile
We are 2nd year HKU film students, and this will be our last film project that we will make at school before our graduation film. That is also the reason that we are now trying to do everything we can to make this as beautiful and professional a product as possible that we can be very proud of. That is why we are looking for you! We believe that audio is just as important as image in a film, good audio can make the difference to actually get the created world that we want the audience to believe, believable on the silver screen.
