For our third-year film at the Netherlands Academy of Visual Arts, we are working as a team of four filmmakers on “Komt wel goed”, a short film of 15-20 minutes. This powerful and personal story is written by our director, based on her own experiences, and deals with themes such as mental health and social pressure.

The film is made possible by 113 Suicide Prevention and TEJO Netherlands and will be used by them to support people who are dealing with similar struggles.

Synopsis:
“Komt wel goed” follows Mark and Saar, two young adults struggling with society’s expectations and their own mental well-being. Saar tries to hold her own in a work environment where she’s not always taken seriously, while Mark bears the emotional burden of losing his best friend to suicide. When they get stuck in an elevator together, an intense conversation ensues that drives them to change.

For the sound design, music composition and audio mix of our film we are looking for an experienced and passionate sound professional who will help us take the emotional impact of this story to the next level.

Activities:
• Sound Design: Creating and implementing sound effects to enhance emotion and tension.
• Music Composition: Developing an original soundtrack that supports the mood and theme.
• Audio Mixing: Mixing and mastering the audio tracks for professional sound quality.

Job requirements / profile
Experience with sound design, music composition and/or audio mixing for film.

• A good sense for enhancing emotion and atmosphere with sound.
• Available to conduct feedback rounds and collaborate with the team in consultation.
