For a school project, we, five motivated students, are creating a news program with different segments.

Logline:
A news program shows fictional news items that are based on current and realistic topics, these topics are socially relevant and are becoming increasingly absurd and unrealistic.

Our satirical news program called 'De Harde Kern van de Waarheid' covers a collection of absurd news items. The newsreader talks about many strange but realistic subjects, such as an addicted man who is interviewed by a reporter in his home. The presenter also talks about bizarre but current social phenomena such as extremist racists who protest against the existence of ethnic minorities. The episode slowly becomes more absurd because of the subjects, which are constructive, increasingly unrealistic. This makes the satire and criticism of social themes increasingly clear.

To realize this program we are still looking for three roles. The presenter, Mark: the addicted 'intervention giver' and a reporter.

Presenter: (1 day of shooting) March 31 or April 1
The presenter of 'De kern van de waarheid' has no name. He is available for the program day and night and is at first glance an ordinary newsreader. However, it quickly becomes clear during the broadcasts that this presenter has a different kind of charisma than the average presenter or newsreader. The presenter of this program has the discipline and charisma of a person who can never tell the truth.

Characteristics: He looks good, professional and well-groomed. He has the look of someone who has been in front of the camera for years. Always dressed in a suit, hair neat and well-shaven without a beard. Tells all the news in the same tone, as if everything he says is normal.
Personality: He will never let himself be a victim of his circumstances. He always remains professional and will do everything to keep the broadcast going. Always takes himself and what he says seriously. Despite this, he has a charismatic appearance and sells what he says as if it is the truth.

Mark: the addicted 'interventionist'. (1 day of shooting)
Gender: male
Age: 30 to 50 years old
Description: Mark is a middle-aged man who immediately makes the viewer feel sorry for him when they see him. He looks like he is living an unhealthy lifestyle and he has the look and presence of someone who is extremely lonely. He is awkward and quickly presents things he says as the worst thing that can happen to a person. You can hear in his voice that he finds himself just as pitiful as everyone else.
Characteristics: Appears as if he doesn't take care of himself and has an unhealthy lifestyle. Half-shaved beard, unkempt haircut, and wearing the same clothes he's been wearing for weeks. Speaks with many dramatic pauses and often looks somberly at the ground.

Reporter 1:
Gender: Male
Age: 20 to 30 years old
The reporter interviews Mark and will eventually fall victim to Mark's addiction. The reporter is a fairly average reporter. He is on the more formal side, has a critical mind, is neutral and objective, patient but also persistent. He goes through life with the mindset that there is a story to tell everywhere.
