For the short film “BARIŞ” for the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) we are looking for a male actor.

“BARIŞ” is about a young car mechanic who tries to escape his oppressive village, but as he gets closer to freedom, he is increasingly drawn back by his community and his only chance to escape is in danger of disappearing. Barış feels trapped in a vicious circle: the social and cultural expectations of his environment keep him captive, but the idea of leaving them behind is equally unbearable. Every step towards change confronts him with the question of whether he really wants to break free, or whether memories of his environment will always pull him back.

Description
- Turkish speaking man aged 18-25.

- Proficiency in French is a plus. (Because the story takes place in Wallonia, French will be spoken in the film)

- Proficiency in Dutch or English for communication on set.

- Acting experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
