About Submarine:
Submarine Animation is an independent animation studio that develops and produces international animated films and series for partners such as KRO-NCRV, ARTE, France TV, BBC, Amazon, and Netflix. The studio works on a wide range of projects for various target audiences and combines diverse techniques, from 2D and 3D animation to traditional craft techniques and hybrid forms of live-action and animation.

Our productions include A Dream of a Thousand Cats (The Sandman, Netflix), Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood by Richard Linklater for Netflix, the animated series Undone for Amazon Prime Video, and the award-winning family film Fox & Hare Save the Forest, directed by Mascha Halberstad. Submarine is currently working on new international productions, including the 3D series based on Pippi Longstocking and the 2D arthouse film Dansker by Oscar-nominated director of Flee, Jonas Poher Rasmussen.

Description
As a Production Intern, you will be part of our production team from day one. You will get a unique behind-the-scenes look at the development and production of international animated films and series.

At Submarine, you don't work on just one type of animation. From family productions and international series to artistic arthouse films, every production requires a unique approach. Depending on the phase a project is in, you support development, pre-production, production, or post-production. You work closely with our Producers and the production team and assist with a wide range of tasks, from script breakdowns and pitch documents to funding applications.

You will gain insight into how an animation project actually comes to life: from the initial idea and project development to production, post-production, and final release.

Job requirements / profile
Responsibilities:
- You support producers during the development and production of international animated films and series.
You contribute to pitch decks, mood boards, pitch bibles, and funding applications, and research potential funds and financing opportunities.
- You assist with script breakdowns and the preparation of production documentation.
- You support the team with production and administrative tasks, such as preparing meetings, taking minutes, and maintaining schedules and overviews.
- You assist with the organization of international festivals, markets, premieres, and business trips, such as Annecy and Berlinale.
- You conduct research into animation talent and potential creative collaborations.
- You support post-production and distribution, including organizing deliverables and gathering press materials.

Skills & Requirements:
- Enrolled in a higher professional or university program (preferably media, film, communication, art, or a related field).
- Strong interest in animation and/or film production.
- Good command of Dutch
- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
- Independent, flexible and proactive.
- Experience with Photoshop.
