For the short fiction film "Als een Vis op het Droge", director Kilian Brons and Stichting CineNest Films are looking for a co-producer / executive producer from Rotterdam.

Like a Fish Out of Water is a tragicomic short film about Ton, the last fisherman of a defunct sea fishing company. When he is forced to take in his mother Wies, who has dementia, on his old fishing boat, mother and son are compelled to get to know each other again. Without dialogue, the film tells a personal and societal story about dementia, caregiving, loss, humor, and reconnecting.

Alongside the film, we are developing an impact campaign around dementia, with screenings, discussions, and public activities for, among others, older people with dementia, their loved ones, older migrants, and a broader audience.

Description
We are looking for someone who can step in as a co-producer during the development phase and support the producer in advancing the project. In this phase, the emphasis is on approaching and contacting funds, contributing ideas regarding the financing strategy, establishing contacts with potential partners, and helping to secure funding.

As the project moves towards realization, the role shifts (if interested) to that of executive producer. In that phase, it involves the practical organization of the film: planning, budgeting, crew, locations, suppliers, shooting days, and further production execution.

- Contributing ideas regarding the production setup of the project
- Assist with budgeting, planning, and financing strategy
- Assisting with applications to funds, the municipality, or Rotterdam partners
- Exploring local collaborations in Rotterdam
- Contributing ideas regarding crew, locations, and suppliers
- Potentially executive production during pre-production and shooting days
- Strategic brainstorming with director and producer
- Help to anchor the project more strongly locally

Experience with short fiction, independent film productions, grant applications, impact projects, or the Rotterdam audiovisual/cultural field is a distinct advantage.
