When teenagers commit a crime and are arrested, they deserve fair treatment and appropriate help with any problems they may be facing, such as domestic violence. We aim to contribute to this through our research, and you can help.
In our research at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, we conduct video shooting of acted interviews between employees of the Child Protection Council or Juvenile Probation Service and arrested youths. We have real employees of the Council or Juvenile Probation Service review the acted interviews. Based on this, they estimate the problems the youth experiences in life and the likelihood that the youth will commit another crime.

What we offer
A reimbursement of €50, travel expenses incurred, and lunch.

The videos will not be made public and will always carry a watermark indicating that it is a scripted interview. You may select a clip from the video in the autumn to include in your portfolio, if you wish.

Description
We are looking for actors who want to play the role of a young person aged 15-18 who has committed a crime.
We are looking for approximately 6 young people of diverse backgrounds, including the Netherlands, other parts of Europe, North and South Africa, and West Asia.

Participation entails the following:
• You act in an interview clip (10-15 minutes per clip).
• You will receive information in advance about the fictional crime, the young person's background, and the interview questions.
• You can choose to improvise or work with a script. You do not need to know the script text exactly by heart.
• Bring an appropriate outfit for the teenager you are playing.

Period
Filming takes place on Sunday, June 7 and Sunday, June 21, or Sunday, July 5. Each shoot lasts approximately 2 hours and takes place at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam.
