Smoke & Mirrors is a studio working at the intersection of non-fiction cinema and architecture. Led by architect and filmmaker Onur Can Tepe, the studio produces documentaries, short films, and video installations.

Omschrijving
We are looking for a Video Editing Intern to work closely with Onur and support the development of the studio’s ongoing projects. The role will focus primarily on assisting with the editing of documentary and short-film projects, as well as creating short-form content for social media.

In particular we are looking for:
- Someone with an interest in video editing, social media, documentaries, and architecture.
- Able to collaborate effectively, while also working independently, taking initiative, and taking responsibility for delivering results.
- Experience with Final Cut Pro is a plus, but not required. A willingness to learn and work with Final Cut Pro is essential. There will be plenty of opportunity to develop your skills.
- Additional skills in camera operation, sound recording, or production assistance are an advantage.
- English is required. Dutch is a plus, particularly for editing Dutch-language content.
- A driving license is a plus.

Periode
Starting immediately and working for a period of at least 6 months

Functie eisen / profiel
- Edit on-going documentaries, short films and teasers.
- Edit short-form video content for social media using material from our existing archive of films and footage. This material is published under the editorial title 1000 Words and through its dedicated Instagram account.
- Analyze content performance and experiment with different editing and storytelling approaches to help grow the online presence of 1000 Words through creative visual storytelling.
- Occasionally assist on set, working alongside Onur. Depending on your interests and skills, this may include script development, camera operation, sound recording, or other production tasks.
- Contribute ideas to the development of 1000 Words and explore new ways of presenting architectural stories through moving image.
